Hello bandwagon! Can I play? - SP 365.35





So I've been watching those of you participating in 'Accountability Wednesday' and I've been inspired. At first I kept thinking 'What's the big deal? It's just a number.'

And then I got on the scale.

Ouch.

It's obviously been quite some time since I've been on a scale myself and while I still do believe that it's just a number and is really not a good indicator of health, I'm not happy with this number.

I actually eat pretty well. I'm hypoglycemic. I was diagnosed about 4 years ago and I've changed my diet quite a bit since then. There is no high fructose corn syrup in my house. All grains are whole ones. I could go on. To make a long story short, I've come to the realization in the last couple of weeks that what I eat isn't the problem, it's how much. Portion control? We don't haz it.

So that's what I'm working on. In addition to my usual checking of labels and reading ingredients on a regular basis I'm also paying more attention to serving sizes and trying to stick with them.

I'm also working on incorporating exercise into my life again too. I've finally found a yoga studio that works with my schedule and budget and I've been going once a week but hope to up it to twice sooner than later. Considering I have a desk job, that's an essential change in more ways than one.

Those two things should help, right?

P.S. It was really hard to upload this without obscuring that number. Does telling you I'm 5'11" make it better? I guess it just makes me feel better...

P.P.S. My chiropractor commented on my socks today. Yes I did make them that way. :)

This is R. N. Debbie Hale who is employed at the Leflore County Health Department in Poteau, Ok. You'll notice I sound giddy... I was and that freaks me out cause I'm just not a giddy kind of person. Also with me holding the camera my weight went up almost a pound. But no matter, it was still under 190 and that's the glass floor I hadn't been able to break through since I was a teen. I haven't missed a day of working out. I haven't slipped off my diet, splurged... nothing. I am a steam roller headed for a healthy weight and anyone or anything that gets in my way better bring a manila envelope so we can mail them back home.

A fractal distortion field involving painful symbolic tesselated fractal hands...

Maurice Cornelius Escher, draftsman extradinaire, raised the essential question of how does one really represent higher dimensions, three and four specifically, on a two dimensional plane. He made use of tessellation, the filling or tiling of a plane with various shaped patterns, as a visual tool to change the perceived dimensionality of space itself.

On the other hand - pun intended - Benoit Mandelbrot computer scientist discovered objects with non-integer, fractional dimensionality! And, we suddenly see tessellation playing a key role in visual representation of certain Mandelbrot sets. -

We may ask, what is the real question? "Hands On" symbolizes the uncertainty of how we view dimensionality. Is it reasonable to work in a Physics of only finite integer dimensionality? One wonders, One may ponder - Is there a way to apply these concepts to Cosmology as well? How about Elementary Particle Physics?

And, another layer of uncertainty suddenly or spontaneously appears!!... Definitely a question for brilliant French Metaphysical Philosophers of Science to address... Most likely, they already have...;))

Self similarity crops up in many current analyses of physical objects such as coastlines and of biological forms... The length of a coastline is a function of the amount or level of detail you permit in the measurement process. Similarly, the branching of a tree follows fractal rules and is self similar no matter which scale you use to view it....

Maurice Cornelis Escher, extradinaire dessinateur, a souleve la question essentielle de savoir comment peut-on vraiment representer les dimensions superieures, trois et quatre precisement, sur un plan bidimensionnel. Il fait usage de la tessellation, le remplissage ou le carrelage d'un avion avec divers motifs en forme, comme un outil visuel pour changer la dimensionnalite de l'espace percu lui-meme.

D'autre part - jeu de mots - chercheur Benoit Mandelbrot a decouvert l'ordinateur des objets avec des non-entier, dimensionnalite fractionnaire! Et, soudain nous voir jouer tessellation un role cle dans la representation visuelle de certains ensembles de Mandelbrot. -

Nous pouvons nous demander, quelle est la vraie question? «Hands On» symbolise l'incertitude de notre facon de voir la dimensionnalite. Est-il raisonnable de travailler dans une physique de la dimensionnalite entiers seulement finie? On se demande, on peut s'interroger - Yat-il un moyen d'appliquer ces concepts a la cosmologie ainsi? Que diriez-Physique des particules elementaires?

Et, une autre couche d'incertitude soudainement ou spontanement, apparait !!... Certainement une question pour brillants philosophes francais metaphysiques de la science a l'adresse ... Tres probablement, ils ont deja ...;))

Similitude des cultures auto dans de nombreuses analyses actuelles des objets physiques tels que les cotes et des formes biologiques ... La longueur d'un littoral est une fonction de la quantite ou le niveau de detail vous autorisez dans le processus de mesure. De meme, le branchement d'un arbre suit des regles fractales et est auto-similaires, peu importe ou vous utilisez l'echelle pour la voir ....

I noticed this dandelion seed stuck in a spider's web the other day, while I was trying to photograph the spider. I wasn't impressed at all with the color version, so I ran it through a bit of processing with Photoshop plugin called virtualPhotographer. I liked it much better.
